Windows 8 burn to disc not working

I tried different dvds. So I am thinking its a bad burner so I go out and buy a new one. The new one burns the dvd in like 8 minutes but disc still bad. I figured ok, software might not be working with windows 8. I install imgburn and it seems to write ok but disc still fails. I don't know what else to try. I will try to attach the log file for my last attempt. You can find that by right clicking on the drive selection box and picking the 'Family Tree' option off the context menu.

Going back to the disc the log in post 1 belongs to, what happens if you put it back in the drive now? When you're back on the main 'Write' mode screen or if you're in 'Build' mode, look on the 'Device' tab , what does it list in the disc info box on the right?

At the moment, your drive seems to be going through the entire process of burning the disc and is reporting 'success' the entire time , but the resulting disc still appears to be blank.

My disk burner isn't broken It works when I log on using the local 'Administrator' account If I log onto the domain using an account with admin rights on the local machine account is in the Domain Admins group which is in the local Administrators group , and do the same thing, it is as if I didn't have a burner in the machine and I get the following message: "A disc burner wasn't found.

Same thing happened to me this morning. Do you have Nero installed on your R2 box? I had to toggle the burning rights "off for everyone" then reboot, toggle them back on, reboot, then it worked fine. I had installed the latest windows updates and rebooted right before this problem started. Thursday, October 29, PM. How do you toggle burning rights? Does anyone know how to toggle burning rights or set burning rights or set burning permissions?
