It is the first preference of users looking for a game identical to the rise of kingdoms as it offers a bit more intense gameplay than the rise of kingdoms, which is highly thrilling and enjoyable.

You need to build your kingdoms but also have to fight battles when it is necessary to save your kingdom and people. All the responsibility of developing the city is on your shoulders, and you also have to protect it from enemy kingdoms.

With each battle, you get to enhance your army and make it stronger. To conclude, it is irrefutable that the rise of kingdoms is a fantastic game, but these games are identical to it, and some of them even have better features and aspects than the rise of kingdoms.

In Castle Clash, they both bring different rewards. Also, the rewards from rewarded video ads are less valuable. Since their eCPMs are lower, this makes complete sense. This farming game by Supercell falls into casual and simulation genres. In this process, players need currencies and resources. Another thing players can buy in the game is a battle pass subscription.

They can watch rewarded video ads. Noticing the pattern already? Yup, another game with hybrid monetization. Hay Day only features one rewarded video ad placement, and it is reserved for engaged players. The ability to watch rewarded video ads unlocks when players reach level At this point, players should be very into the game. Instead, they need to find it themselves. It takes players to a Night at the Movies where they can watch a Trailer.

Of course, the trailers are ads for other games. Before watching, the game displays rewards players can win. They are randomized, so this brings an excitement factor to it. After the ad finishes, players find out which reward they won and claim it. This placement comes with a daily limit. Players can only watch four ads a day. Therefore, they have a good incentive to come back the next day. Interestingly, not all players can see these ads in Hay Day. The thing is, the game separates payers from non-payers.

They can get them with zero hassle — all they need is to come and claim them. In our mobile game dissections category, you can find monetization analyses of many popular games. It's fun, and it puts a fun retro twist to the classical strategy genre. You might argue that The Lords of Midnight is an RPG, but it has a hefty strategic element as you work to amass a fantasy army. While it's not out of this world in the visual department, it more than makes up for it with high-quality strategic battles that actually need detailed planning and aggressive campaigns. One could argue that LOM is a must in every strategy enthusiast's inventory, and we easily stand by that.

Make sure you give it a shot - it's free to play after all! Easily the best city builder on the market, Tropico is a richly detailed, responsive, engaging, and fun PC port that feels perfectly at home on your tablet. It looks and sounds beautiful, too. It also has a strategic factor where you'll have to combat the rebels, so you'll have to keep a tight grip on your security as El Presidente, or those nasty rebels will overthrow you!

If you've played the PC version and you'd like the more hands-on approach that you can carry around in your pocket it's definitely worth buying. It's not often a port is well-done, but this one is a winner. A retro-style adventure, but with feisty minutes-long battles.

It's not just a sharply-made RTS, but also a fun title filled with foul-mouthed, half-drunk barbarians. What is there not to like? The highly strategic battles are all the more fun when your units are as bad as those barbarians.

And while we're at it, keep in mind that beer is not a weapon you can use against your opponents! A brilliant turn-based strategy set within Pixelbite's tense sci-fi Xenowerk universe.

There's more than a hint of XCOM to its tight squad maneuvering, but with a slightly more arcadey edge. That's not bad though, and if you've played the former, you know that there's much to enjoy. While you can get a taste of Xenowerk Tactics for free, you can decide later if you'd like to purchase it or not.

It's one of the best Android strategy games on the market, so it easily gets a spot on our list. Text-based titles used to be all the rave time ago, but now they tend to get outdone by games with amazingly realistic graphics and whatnot. However, that's not the case for Seedship. It is a clever one that gives a much more hands-on approach to the genre and even makes it appealing to players who like to have a visual of their work. It's a piece of work and if you are looking for something to challenge you on a whole new level, try out Seedship.

Though it's less viscerally impressive than Tropico, Pocket City remains an absolute treat of a premium city builder. In particular, it manages to combine intuitiveness with strategic depth better than most. You will also have two variants of Pocket City - a free one and a premium one.

The free version has almost all the features the premium one has, except for some buildings and features, and the sandbox mode. Both of them are fun if city builders are your thing, and there's more than enough replay potential. Read the full Pocket City review. A side-scrolling micro game that strips a lot of the fiddly stuff out of the strategy genre. In its place is an intuitive 2D side-scrolling system and a pleasantly accessible learning curve, as you trot back and forth building up your empire.

The beautiful 8-bit graphics that you'll see in Kingdom: Two Crowns are definitely something to behold, and if you ever thought a fairly simple and story-rich game could have no tactical elements, you'd be wrong.

Kingdom Two Crowns has it all, and it's a beautiful creation that only adds more depth to the genre. But there's no denying that Clash has done something super interesting with the strategy genre, making it truly social and making defence as important as an all-out attack. There are millions of players still active worldwide, and there is something that many strategic games lack, except for this one. The unique element that sets Clash of Clans apart from the rest is the fact that you can come up with a tactic completely unique to you.

You can discover something never-before-seen, a setup or a unit formation that can really wreak havoc, and that can all be thanks to attentive planning. This giant is specifically designed to make your neurons work extra hard for just a little bit of compensation when you defeat an opponent.

Good job Ironhide! Nov 19, By JRod I have been anxiously anticipating this game since it was first announced. Let me be the first to tell you that this game is well worth the wait and more! I see a lot of people saying the game is too simple, or that it requires no strategy. It is quite the opposite. The whole fun of the game is to try to find different strategies with different units to defeat all the enemies in a particular level.

But, it is not meant to be played that way. It is meant to be enjoyed, analyzed, and strategized. Trust me when I say that this is probably one of my top five favorite games of all time in the App Store, hands-down.

A couple hints: Sep 20, By RobotClouds. This game seems to have been designed with replayability in mind. That is to say: For those of you who have written reviews complaining about difficulty: you need to replay missions. Try each level with different heroes.

Grind out their levels. Doing so will not only get you more familiar with the mechanics like double tapping will select a wide area and all units within the radius. I am heavily into the upgrade tree now from simply enjoying the replayability of the missions. And once you get those upgrades for your units the difficulty takes a massive drop.

I am currently working my way through the second world on highest difficulty and have only lost for the first time on mission 4 of 6. And you know what? All I will have to do is either replay some earlier levels to amass resources or simply lower the difficulty level back down.

Easy peasy. All without spending a single dollar outside the initial price of the game. The initial content is actual somewhat small for a Ironhide game. Highly recommended. Great Game, Minor Complaints Sep 23, When I was young I used to play the crap out of the Kingdom Rush Games, my friends and I would battle to beat the levels and be ultimate victor. Each level of those games was hard, it was almost never a 1 and done. I saw this game in the AppStore and thought hey, this looks good.

For the most part it is. I love the game play but I think I am going to have to turn up the difficulty, it may be my amazing commandingship skills or most levels are just easy. Just keep that in mind.

The length in this game I hate to admit is short. Compared to other KR games I has about the same amount of levels, but the ones here are just so much easier so it feels way shorter than it should. Now these two I would love to see but a multiplayer mode and a encyclopedia for enemies would make this game a great buy. I love this game and keep replaying levels. Buy this game.

And Ironhide, if you are listening. Please consider what I have to offer. No reviews available See all 4 reviews. No reviews available See all 3 reviews. No reviews available See all 1 reviews.

Bit light on content at launch. Defend your mushroom tower in a real-time strategy war game! RTS tower defense. Community Bad mannered company Oct 5, By Damien Kendrick.

Fun and could be balanced rts is really a pay to win. I payed some money and dominated, but then you get matched with other pay to win ppl. The company is extremely pretentious, greedy and does not care.

By Rodger This is my favorite game in the whole wide world!! One of my favorite touches to this game is that the top character u can get is a rat a mystical one too! One more thing this is not a pay to win, even thou the top rat is like 50 or bucks he can still get beet by the first level character Rudo which is pretty cool if u think about it. This game is a more skill based game. Now we gotta talk about the power ups or perks that u can use!!

Most of them are pretty okay nothing too crazy but the character that I personally hate is the Phaom which has really Op perks! The one thing that I HATE is one of his perks which scares ur units off from a designated area and then he just attacks with his entire army. Best competitive rage game ever Feb 2, By CripTeC. Plus watching other players rage quit is the best feeling! Hope this helped convince you this game is a keeper!!

Dec 28, By robin banks. Very good game. Only down side is the wait times for multiplayer, only sometimes though. Maybe once there are more players it will be even less.

Jan 1, By Devan Anderson. Overall a beautiful and entertaining game. It's like a tower defense gone wild. Idk what it is, but it's my favorite strategy game I've ever played. Review Jul 11, By Kyle Hashey. Understanding strategy and knowing player powers is key to winning a lot in the game.

Also would be nice to get better chests more often, without spending money still a really really fun game but it will take me forever to unlock all characters and upgrade them all the way. Jun 4, By mark I like this game for its multiplayer player feature and the ability to gradually unlock everyone. There is a lot of ways to make money without giving half of the game. But I do overall love and play this games multiplayer religiously.

It would be a 5 with more content with at least stories of the characters and more levels or Bonus levels. I mean there are so many characters how could some of the games campaign NOT be free?

By Marius Longshanks. Fantastic game love how they do the game play my only complaints would be how much it pushes buying content and the costs of said content. That being said i have purchased the story and a hero pack just a bit pushy. By Joseph Lopez.

This is a good game in all. Exciting and brilliant defense game. The only issue is when you start to rank higher the game will level you up with some other players that are beyond your league or level.

Its a lose lose situation. Scenario, I dont have wins yet but I went up against someone with wins 50 wins in a row and a few other achievements. Im not saying I'm not any good but the levels we are up against.

Or players are cheating. Who knows more. All they want is your money Mar 13, By Thetechg33k. Everything is focused around you spending real money in order to progress. You can play multiplayer without your abilities and gems but you would more than likely lose to a skilled opponent.

This needs to be fixed ASAP, the PC version of this game is nowhere as money hungry as the iOS version, on pc your abilities just have a cool down in game and you can constantly use them without having to refill gems.

Devs you need to fix this money hungry aim for your game because players recognize this and you lose a significant amount of your player base due to the fact that your game is revolved around making you money. By yoda Pay to win.

The game is no longer as fun or challenging. To be competitive, you must put at least a year into the game, or hundreds of dollars. No more! It now just feels like a rip off. Many veteran players are jumping ship now. To be competitive you need about 3 million gold for passive upgrades, double that to be a pro.

You also need a couple million to upgrade heroes. Every 3 hours you can unlock a chest with gold, and daily play 2 hours for 10k gold. So roughly 15k gold daily, whilst investing several hours and checking all day to open chests. Double that to be a pro. Or neither? Stupid update So close yet so far Oct 23, By RapidfireX. So close yet so far. In a market full of uninspired mobile games that repeatedly rip each other off, MR2 provides something truly unique.

Hands down, I would rate this game in my top 3 mobile games of the year. However, this gets me to my second point, it is beyond Pay-to-Win. Ok fair, lock the campaign behind a paywall. So WHY? Why, are these skills hidden behind an energy bar? Was my favorite Aug 19, By Lazyovermatch. I really enjoyed this game in the past but it has become pay to play.

To have an edge you need to upgrade your base troops, to do this you need runes. To get runes you have to level up, to level up you need to upgrade the heroes, to upgrade the heroes you have to earn lots of gold and cards.

It takes a long time to save to really upgrade your heroes. The average chest, that takes 3 hours to open, only gives gold. This is crazy. Now the as you continue to upgrade your hero abilities it becomes more and more expensive. The only way to really advance in this game is to watch a crazy amount of adds as well as spend money on gems. A solution would be to add ways to level up that do not involve spending gold or gems.

Maybe actually playing the stinking game should level you up. I am very disappointed to see this game turn to pay to play. EDIT for latest update: nothing buy pay to play now. You have to upgrade through XP only gained by spending gold and gems.

With this update you cant even choose the order to get your upgrades to support your play style. You are seriously turning a great game into trash. You need to choose, pay to play or adds not both. See All Community Reviews. By Damian Danziger. Good game fairly balanced a lil pay to win. Fun game but you will have to pay to compete in the higher leagues Aug 10, By Lou This is definitely a fun game to play and you can tell Zillion Wales put in a lot of time developing it.

However, if you play regularly or want to get to the higher leagues, especially diamond or pro, then you will likely have to spend money to compete with the top players who spend a lot of money to upgrade their heroes.

For forging artifacts, they will also not let you choose which artifact or hero you are forging the artifact for, but they can give you a artifact you already possess. Furthermore, even if you buy premium, you still have to watch several 30 second ads or use gems to open chests usually paying for premium on any site or app gets rid of ads.

Passive skills is another way they try to get you to spend money, as you can only upgrade passive skills with gold and runes. I used to really love this game Mar 19, By ahfkabgdsfh. So if you have extra change then I recommend this game but if u are searching for a fair platform this is not it. Not to mention you are cross played with people who use computers or laptops so if u play on ur phone you are automatically at a disadvantage. Jan 9, By Eric Springer.

Good strategy game, couldn't find a way to turn off the music and sounds Really annoying. Thier is lots to buy in game but you can earn your way through the game without buying so kudos there. By james brandt. I like the game allot it is fun but it is having connection issues. Also another thing I don't like about it don't expect to get good unless you buy stuff. Like allot of stuff.

This game will literally burn a hole in your pocket just to be on the same level as average players. Much like every other mobile game these days.

It's so annoying. Then they put you with way better people all the time I probably win one of every 4 battles. Also once you tier up the quests take you so long unless you buy more. By Mitchell Hoasjoe. Unfortunatly this great game is been disadvantaging people who do not pay to play enough.. Lagging got worse, game matching got worse, glitches got worse. Suport emails have not changed this and therefore I review it at 1 star. Pay to play trash Jan 18, By Automagic.

The game is pay to play garbage I get you need to make money, we all understand nothing is free but you could have done anything else to do this.

This is the sort of garbage corporate idea that EA would have, or even Bethesda at this point. Jan 4, By master noscope. I would like this game a lot more if premium wasn't so unbalenced. If you are free to play and you are against a premium player, you will most likely lose due to the fact that your energy bank will drain a long time before the game is over. The energy limit of 12 is ridiculus as it regenerates isanely slowly, this drains your energy bank and forces you to watch ads or not play the game for the rest of the day.

Maps with speed zones and no environmental objects to block can end in the first minut more. Jan 3, By Brian Prince. One of the worst matchmaking algorithms of any game. If this game was real life it would be matching NBA players against 6 year old pee wee players! Players that have been playing a week will get matched against players with full tech trees!

Mushroom War Game See All. Turn based strategy game. Build a civilization and take it into battle! Free Fresh In App Purchases. Jan 8, By Jenn Deems.

Terrific game, the complexity and difficulty of some of the harder bots can seriously put your brain in a tangle. All of this plus no adds is tremendous. Dec 11, By Dullspork. This is probably my favorite and most go-to game. I've been playing for a few years now and have well over played games.

It's super stable with quality updates more. By slimeysimon My friend showed it to me while we were on the bus to a school tournament.
