Norton 360 toolbar for safari

Thank you. I have the same question 0. Reg: Oct Any ideas greatly appreciated. PapauZ Guru Norton Fighter Reg: Apr Kudos 1 Stats. Will they be working on making it available on Safari? Unfortunately we do not know about these This thread is closed from further comment. Please visit the forum to start a new thread. How can I get a refund for my Norton Core router i can't seem to be able to get Norton to work for me. Norton Safe Web works with Safari to warn you when visiting potentially dangerous websites to help protect you from malicious activity.

Sometimes when I click the icon several times it updates. Many times I have to refresh the page to get it to update. Also the "Untested" icon is the same color as the checked "safe" icon. The only thing different is there is a "? So it makes it hard to notice. I notice it works on Firefox on Mac. But I want to use Safari on my Mac.

The Safe Web Icon in the toolbar does not always update when you navigate to another link. If you click on the icon, then it updates. This would be a 5-star extension if it just worked consistently. Even when you launch Safari, the icon is never updated until you click on the icon. That's a disappointment. It's been a couple months since Mike Romo had posted about this topic , and I'd have thought that Symantec would have made some progress getting some functionality working, especially since some of their other competitors already offer limited functionality for Safari on OS X Lion.

Yes, Apple made changes to Safari, but other developers have managed to come up with new solutions without source code. Lion has been out for almost 7 months now, yet its native browser still isn't supported in NIS 5 for Mac. Is anyone at Symantec actively working on getting the toolbar functioning with Safari 5. No development is ongoing. But as stated previously, Safari has no means to run code inside the browser.

It is sandboxed, and does not allow any code to be run inside the browser. The only supported extension mechanism requires you to write your extensions in JavaScript, but this makes security features very difficult to implement, since a hacker could easily reverse engineer the JavaScript and prevent our extension from detecting phishing and malicious sites. Development is ongoing. We are indeed working on a solution but it will take a while.

I deeply appreciate the efforts of Symantec's Mac team to continue work on a solution to a very complex problem. Thank you all so verry much for hanging in there. How helpful are the folks at Apple in working with the team? Support for Safari is still planned for an upcoming release of Norton Internet Security 5, but as you probably know by now, it's policy not to give any specific dates or information about unreleased features.

Sorry I can't share more right now. I realize that you're planning on supporting Safari at some point, but do you see that happening anytime this year? It's been almost a year now, and despite repeated claims that Safari will be supported at some point, NIS 5 still doesn't offer antiphishing or Safe Web protection for Safari users.
